INCOSE’s Certification Program was created in 2004 to define and recognize the knowledge and work experience of systems engineering professionals. In 2008 and 2010, the Associate Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP) and Expert Systems Engineering Professional (ESEP) levels joined the base level of Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP). From then and through today, the three levels now document a career path for individuals who work as systems engineers or for whom systems engineering is part of their work. The program has expanded in scope and also in quality, as we now have SEPs from 39 countries and a broad range of industries.
In April of 2019, the INCOSE Board of Directors voted to raise the application fees for INCOSE Certification. This is the first increase since the start of the program and is designed to keep the program strong. There will be no increase in renewal fees, so no impact to current SEPs.
The new fees are as follows:
• ASEP application fee = 180 USD
• CSEP application fee = 350 USD
• ESEP application fee = 630 USD
The new application fees were intended to be effective for all payments received on or after 1 August 2020. Due to COVID-19, the effective date was postponed to1 August 2021. The fees are also effective for all assignment of pre-payments, for individuals named on or after 1 August 2021, even if the fee was received prior to that date.
The INCOSE Certification Program is expanding its global presence and looking for new ways to find and recognize those who do systems engineering This increase in fees will allow us to continue doing that.
