A series of panel discussions hosted by INCOSE, bringing thought leaders together from around the globe.

INCOSE is delighted that Dassault Systèmes has agreed

to be the 2023 ‘Calling All Systems’ series sponsor.

The International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) is pleased to announce the second session in the Calling All Systems panel series. The session theme is:

Product Line Engineering: Are You Missing a Piece in Your Digital Engineering Puzzle?

INCOSE would like to extend its thanks to BigLever Software who is the session sponsor for this panel.

Dr. Barclay Brown, INCOSE’s Chief Information Officer will chair a panel composed of up to four thought leaders in the field of Product Line Engineering (PLE), who will explore the role of PLE in completing the Digital Engineering puzzle.

Engineering enterprises are steadfastly advancing into the new age of Digital Engineering, with digital transformations, digital twins, digital threads, digital assets, model-based systems engineering, digital simulations, and more.  A recent study showed that the number of product and system configurations in a product line - or system family - is largely viewed as the leading source of engineering complexity. Feature-based PLE according to the recently released ISO 26580 standard is the modern digital engineering approach that significantly reduces this leading source of engineering complexity.

Dr. Charles Krueger, founder and CEO of Big Lever Software notes ‘Feature-based Product Line Engineering is a key enabler for an effective and efficient Digital Engineering solution.  We find that organizations that include PLE as a piece in their overall Digital Engineering puzzle are more successful and achieve greater benefits than those who don’t.‘

The panel took place on 11th May 2023 at 11am EST/UTC -4 via Zoom. This discussion was recorded and published on the INCOSE YouTube and Vimeo channels. (See video above)
