The International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) is a not-for-profit membership organization founded to develop and disseminate the transdisciplinary principles and practices that enable the realization of successful systems. INCOSE is designed to connect systems engineering professionals with educational, networking, and career-advancement opportunities in the interest of developing the global community of systems engineers and systems approaches to problems. We are also focused on producing state-of-the-art work products that support and enhance this discipline’s visibility in the world.

Names Five 2020-2021 Board Appointments

SAN DIEGO (December 13, 2019) – The International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) is pleased to announce that five members were elected to its Board. The new officers and directors will be installed during the INCOSE International Workshop in Torrance, CA, USA on 25th January 2020.

  • President-Elect: Marilee Wheaton, Systems Engineering Fellow at The Aerospace Corporation, a FFRDC

  • Treasurer: Mike Vinarcik, Chief Solutions Architect at SAIC

  • Director of Strategic Integration: Tom McDermott, Deputy Director of the SERC at Stevens Institute of Technology

  • Director for Academic Matters: Bob Swarz, Professor of Practice and Co-Director of the SE Program at Worcester Polytechnic Institute

  • Director for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Sector: Lucio Tirone, Senior Systems Engineer at Fincantieri S.p.A.

2020 Election

President-Elect of INCOSE, Kerry Lunney, CPEng EngExe ESEP, Country Engineering Director / Chief Engineer with Thales, said, “As we have grown as an organization, both in size and geography, our Board appointments are reflective of that. Diversity is in line with our strategic objective to be the premier organization for systems engineering professional needs, to lead the path for the future of systems engineering, and to provide value to our member-base.”

INCOSE is managed by a Board of Directors in accordance with its bylaws. The Board of Directors sets strategy and policies that serve the stakeholders – members and practitioners of systems engineering.  Board members are both elected and appointed.
