Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers on behalf of its and Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society signs an MOU with the International Council of Systems Engineering

SAN DIEGO (April 24, 2019) – The International Council of Systems Engineering (INCOSE), the largest organization in the world dedicated to systems engineering, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) on behalf of its Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society (SMCS), IEEE is the world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity.

The purpose of the MOU is to jointly collaborate and participate within the global engineering community. The agreement formalizes the partnership between the two organizations to work on common projects and challenges, including the development and promotion of best practices and guidance, along with training and materials that can support projects and organizations in the field of systems engineering throughout the world.

INCOSE President, Garry J. Roedler stated, “As the operational environment of our systems rapidly change and the complexity of our systems continues to increase, we need to closely examine our systems engineering approaches. We need to work together as a united systems engineering community to shape the future of systems engineering, as well as work to effectively shore up the foundations of systems engineering and improve the development of our systems engineers.”

IEEE SMCS President, Eddie Tunstel stated, “While already working together in several ways, this latest action formalizes the relationship and our joint efforts to combine our strengths in complex systems research and modern practice with our networks in academia and industry for the benefit of our respective members and the international systems engineering community.”
