The version of the Defense Acquisition Guidebook (DAG) Chapter 4 used to prepare for the Acq extension certification exam will change effective 1 May 2011. Prior to that date, the currently referenced version of the DAG Chapter 4 should be used.

INCOSE certification announces that the version of the Defense Acquisition Guidebook (DAG) Chapter 4 used to prepare for the Acq extension certification exam will change effective 1 May 2011. Prior to that date, the currently referenced version of the DAG Chapter 4 should be used. This timing allows a transition period for those already using current version of the DAG Chapter 4 to prepare for the examination. Note that the last date the existing Acq examination will be offered is 8 April 2011.

The online DAG posted on the Defense Acquisition University (DAU) website is a living document that will be updated whenever necessary. In order for the candidates to have a known reference Body of Knowledge, the basis for the INCOSE Acquisition extension will be the version of the DAG Chapter 4 that is posted on the INCOSE certification website. The INCOSE-posted DAG will be updated periodically (nominally semi-annually) after verification of exam consistency by INCOSE. The INCOSE certification website will have the version of the DAG Chapter 4 that should be used to prepare for the Acq exam.

As a reminder and previously announced, either Version 3.1 or Version 3.2 the INCOSE Systems Engineering Handbook can be used to prepare for the ASEP and CSEP certification exam through January 2011. Beginning 1 February 2011, only Version 3.2 of the INCOSE Systems Engineering Handbook should be used and Version 3.1 will be retired.
