Synopsis
Regional transportation is a system of systems that affects most of us every day. Join us for a discussion and tour of the Regional Transportation Management Center (RTMC), located in the Waters Edge Building in Roseville.
This is where the State Patrol, MnDOT Maintenance, and MnDOT Freeway Operations work together to quickly detect, respond to and remove incidents off of our freeway systems. This work is essential to maximize the efficiency of our roads--keeping us moving, and reducing interruptions and accidents.
Other services include, the Freeway Incident Response Safety Team (FIRST) which coordinates with the RTMC to help minimize congestion and prevent secondary crashes by quickly responding to and removing incidents from our freeways. 511 Traveler Information is also provided by RTMC providing real-time, accurate information about current road conditions.
