With the ability to provide advanced modeling, analysis, and visualization capabilities for space, defense, communications, and intelligence domains, STK facilitates mission design and optimization to minimize program development risks and cost. For this presentation, a trade study demonstrating satellite constellation design in the four primary orbit regimes (VLEO, LEO, MEO, and GEO) and the resultant communications effects was conducted. Focusing on each regime’s signal latency, coverage effectiveness, and other communications parameters, the benefits of utilizing a simulated modeling environment are highlighted along with a short discussion of how this maximizes the power of broader Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE).
