South Africa will be the site of INCOSE’s 30th Annual International Symposium in 2020
INCOSE Selects Cape Town, South Africa as Location for 2020 International Symposium
As its South African chapter continues to grow, the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) has selected Cape Town, South Africa as the location for its 30th Annual International Symposium in 2020.
To be held at the Cape Town International Convention Center (CTICC), July 18-23, 2020, the INCOSE International Symposium is the largest annual gathering of systems engineers, hosting an average of about 800 attendees every year to discuss the future of systems engineering and to share best practices and lessons learned across a multitude of industries.
Cape Town is one of the leading cities in Africa, the second-most populated city and legislative capital in South Africa. The city is also ranked as the most popular tourist destination and the top convention city in Africa and the Middle East.
“We selected Cape Town as our 2020 Symposium location to highlight the growing importance of systems engineering – and the INCOSE chapter – in the region,” said INCOSE President Garry Roedler. “We are a global organization with a strong presence in South Africa and hope to continue building on the diversity of our membership, including in geographic regions, technical and business domains, cultures and perspectives.”
The annual symposium attracts an international mix of professionals at all levels, including practitioners in government and industry, as well as educators and researchers. Previous attendees include representatives from BAE Systems, BMW, Jaguar Land Rover, GE, IBM, Lockheed Martin, Medtronic, Network Rail, Roche, Rolls-Royce and many more.
