Meeting Description:

Join us for an exciting event exploring the world of Systems Engineering and its vital role in engineering successful systems. Systems Engineering relies on a set of 30 system life cycle processes, which act as a template for organizations to engineer systems. These processes are described in detail in two sources, the ISO 15288:2015 and the INCOSE handbook v4, both of which embody the expertise of professionals from diverse industries.

These processes are some sort of a template for an enterprise which develops systems. And – as every template – it must be tailored to the reality before application. Tailoring these processes to meet organizational and product needs requires an in-depth understanding of their contents, including concepts, relations between them, and their meaning. However, with a 300-page book, it can be challenging to answer important questions such as how processes "architecture definition" and "design" are related or what processes use the artifact "life cycle concepts".

This webinar will introduce a new INCOSE Technical Product for enterprise systems engineering that addresses this need. Our product, called the Digital Systems Engineering Process Model, offers clear, interactive access to all aspects of the systems engineering life cycle processes, providing a template that you can use for model-based systems engineering of enterprises.

Alexander Efremov, CSEP, is a consulting engineer at MHP Management- and IT-Beratung GmbH, a subsidiary of Porsche AG. He currently resides in Oberasbach, a town located near Nuremberg, Bavaria in Germany. He holds a Dipl.-Ing. (Diploma Engineer) degree in Control Design and Automation and has worked in various fields, including research (control system design for fusion reactors), airspace (life cycle management and systems engineering methods for commercial aircraft), toolchain-based training, and sales support (model-based design, industry-agnostic), and IT-consulting. Alexander is passionate about connecting products with other products, people with other people, and people with themselves. To do it better and to have some fun he learns languages (Russian, German, English, Swedish, Polish), goes hiking and reads.

·Digital Architecture Thought Leader

Gerben C. Th. Wierda MSc MBA (1961) works as a lead enterprise architect for APG. Before that he was (amongst other things) Lead Architect of the Judiciary in The Netherlands, and Head of the forensic IT department of the Dutch Forensic Institute. In his spare time he is an independent author of blogs (of which the central one is https://ea.rna.nl/) and books, based on real world experiences in complex enterprises (of himself or his network) and (very occasionally) provides consultancy, training/coaching.


PhilBeauvoirPhil Beauvoir

Between 1998 and 2012 Phil was Senior Researcher and Developer at Bangor University, and the Institute for Educational Cybernetics at another UK university. During this time, he worked with the team that developed Colloquia, a peer-to-peer learning management and groupware system, and one of the first Java desktop applications. He then went on to co-develop the highly successful Reload tools, a suite of software tools for authoring and delivery of standard-compliant learning objects and meta-data. In 2010, working with the IEC, Phil created the highly acclaimed ArchiMate Modelling Tool, Archi®. As well as maintaining and developing Archi®, he has worked as a consultant with The Open Group developing the ArchiMate Open Exchange Format. He continues to support Archi and develop additional plug-ins.

Jean-Baptiste Sarrodie is a lifelong techie with a strong interest in Enterprise Architecture and ArchiMate. But before all he is Father, Husband, Guitarist and DIY addict. He has been working in the field of IT as a manager and an architect in several industries for over 20 years. He now works as an enterprise architect for BNP PARIBAS bank and divides his time between accompanying the bank’s transformation projects and working on the evolution of the ArchiMate® standard within The Open Group. Since 2013, Jean-Baptiste has been contributing to the development of the open-source modelling tool, Archi®. Jean-Baptiste has been the Chair of The Open Group ArchiMate Forum since 2018.
