INCOSE North Star: DIRTT process to manufacture & install walls and rooms in any facility
Meeting Title: DIRTT process to manufacture & install walls and rooms in any facility
Speaker(s): Jacob Esser
Date:30 August 2022
Time: 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM Central Time
Meeting Description:
Hear about and see in operation an application of great systems engineering that is revolutionizing the building industry. Some companies develop an operating process for producing their products without having ever heard of systems engineering. That is because systems engineering is a very logical and orderly process based on common sense applied by experienced engineers. It is what good engineers do! DIRTT (Doing It Right This Time) is a good example of this and has developed a revolutionary new process to manufacture and install the walls and rooms in any facility.
Our speaker, Jacob Esser, is an Iowa Hawkeye who has worked as a TV News Anchor, Technical Recruiter, New York City Tour Guide, Youth Motivator, Sushi Server, and now….Sustainable Construction Consultant! Jacob leads a local distribution team of the DIRTT systems in his role at The Berg Group, located in Chaska. The Berg Group is a national specialty contractor with over 500 carpenters in the field and 75 office employees, all of which are passionate about preconstruction planning and smart building practices. In late 2021, Jacob joined The Berg Group to lead The Sustainable Construction Division and champion the DIRTT systems. Jacob will explain the advantages, sequencing differences, and unique applications of DIRTT systems in any working environment and is eager to show off a project under construction at Ceramic Industrial Coatings (CIC). He will show how initial requirements up front in the DIRTT process lead to a streamlined and efficient installation to meet the modern customer’s needs. The tour, following his presentation, will be provided by our hosts at Ceramic Industrial Coatings. The tour will also include, as a second point of interest, a paint factory operated by CIC with some interesting patented machinery.
