CANCELLED: Michigan Chapter Webinar: The Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)

MBSE and SAFe – Building Agile Hardware-inclusive Systems

In the era of Digital Disruption, organizations around the world are discovering that the traditional, phased-gate approach to systems engineering can no longer support the growing complexity of hardware-inclusive systems. Model-based Systems Engineering (MBSE) applied in an agile manner provides a better way to manage this complexity while also meeting the demands of a fast-paced marketplace.

This presentation speaks of a particular way to use MBSE in the context of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). Moving from phased V-model to incremental cycles of value accommodates learning and feedback that are essential for building the right, high-quality system in the shortest sustainable lead time. The system specification model is built in a set of workshops prior to and during each 12-week Program Increment (PI). These workshops are face-to-face collaborations that create a shared understanding across stakeholders, domain experts, product owners and teams. System structure and behavior is captured in SysML using an MBSE approach.
