Speaker:
Jessica Baker
About the Presentation:
Advancements in Connected and Automated Vehicle (CAV) technologies has rocked our global transportation systems, demanding new technology architectures, new software, hardware, new perspectives on security, standards, policy, practices and processes, artificial intelligence and other cognitive services, edge networks, cloud environments and so much more. Governor Ron DeSantis put pen to paper mid 2019, signing bills in Florida to further advance emerging technologies in the realm of Autonomous Vehicles (AV), which means swarms of data will soon crowd networks. With industry moving at such a rapid pace, current systems and processes are quickly becoming extinct -- effectively disrupting “what we know”.
This month’s meeting will be a working, collaboration session to discuss how Systems Engineers (SE) can respond to such disruptions invoked by industry. The presentation will include a briefing on the CAV technologies, SE challenges, and how to design-build projects that deploy IoT connected, automated, and autonomous vehicles (V2X and I2X) through each stage of the life cycle, including a presentation on hybrid SE models and various use cases.
