Speaker:
Dr. Matthew Canham and Dr. Clay Posey
About the Presentation:
Both Dr. Posey and Dr. Canham examine cybersecurity through a human-centric lens, thus the topics will focus on the human side of this important domain. But rather than present findings from a single study, they aim to present data emerging from several recent investigations. These efforts include research on online phishing and dealing with the aftermath, the daily struggles organizational insiders perceive in dealing with cybersecurity demands, the tradeoff decisions between productivity and security at the individual employee level and what that means for entire organizations, among others. The goal is to present a variety of findings that focus on the “human in the loop” phenomenon in a domain typically driven by technical disciplines.
About the Speakers:
Dr. Matthew Canham currently conducts cyber-security research with the Institute of Simulation and Training, at the University of Central Florida. His research interests focus on the topics of social engineering, agent-based modeling, cybersecurity policy, and online influence.
