Keynote Speaker: Charles Steiner/Cleveland Clinic Innovations Team
Charles Steiner is the Director for Business, Commercial and Product Development at Cleveland Clinic Innovations. He has been developing and commercializing medical technology for 28 years in the fields of surgical navigation, minimally invasive surgery, surgical simulation, neuromodulation and healthcare information technology. He currently manages the technology development program for Cleveland Clinic Innovations a program which invests in commercially viable projects to validate their technology, de-risk future investments and generate increased value for the intellectual property holder. Additionally he is the program manager for the joint Cleveland Clinic & IBM Watson advanced cognitive computing initiative, a collaborative project with the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine. Charles is the holder of 6 US Patents, many of which are current components of clinical devices or processes. Charles has advised several early stage medical technology companies through pre-seed, seed and later rounds of funding. Two companies Charles has advised have been acquired by strategic investors with another two rapidly approaching monetization.
