Dr. Chris A. Browne’s research and teaching focus is on building literacy in systems approaches in transdisciplinary contexts at The Australian National University. This includes investigating conceptual models of complex systems, methodology of problem-solving processes, strategies for developing intuition of dynamic systems, and processes for constructing and integrating shared conceptual models of systems, with application spaces such as critical infrastructure, healthcare, climate change and education.
Chris holds a PhD, BEng and BAsianStudies from The Australian National University, is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), and a CSEP. Chris is Deputy Services Director of the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE), has held various leadership roles in the Systems Engineering Society of Australia, and was a member of the INCOSE Technical Leadership Institute Cohort 4. Chris has also served technical program chair at SETE22 and SETE24, and as President of the Oceania Chapter of the System Dynamics Society.
